Safer Gambling Week 2025: Let’s Talk About Safer Gambling

Safer Gambling Week 2025

Safer Gambling Week takes place from 17 to 23 November 2025, bringing together the entire Irish and UK gambling sectors for one shared goal — to raise awareness about safer gambling and the support available to anyone who needs it.

Now in its seventh year, Safer Gambling Week has grown into a truly pan-industry initiative, uniting operators from betting, gaming, bingo, arcades, and online sectors. The campaign encourages conversations between customers, staff, and communities about what it means to gamble safely, the tools available to stay in control, and where to turn for advice or support.

This year’s theme — “Let’s Talk About Safer Gambling” — is about starting conversations. Whether that’s a simple chat between staff and customers in a shop, sharing a social media post, or encouraging a loved one to seek advice, every interaction matters. The more people and organisations who get involved, the stronger the message becomes.

From the perspective of the Irish Bookmakers Association, Safer Gambling Week is not just a campaign — it’s a collective effort across our sector to promote responsibility, awareness, and care.

Every bookmaker, whether operating on the high street or online, plays an important part. By displaying campaign materials, sharing key messages, and signposting customers to support services, we help normalise conversations about safer gambling.

For some people, seeing that message or hearing that conversation might be the moment they realise they’re not alone, or that help is available for a friend or family member who’s struggling. That’s why participation matters. The more visible and consistent the campaign is, the more likely it is to reach the people who need it most.

we’re proud to support this initiative each year and to see our members actively engage in promoting safer gambling in their local communities. The commitment and collaboration across the sector make a real difference.

If you work in the industry, please take part. Share the campaign on social media using #SGWeek25, display the posters and digital materials in your venues, and encourage your teams to get involved. Together, we can keep building a culture where safer gambling is at the heart of everything we do.
